Ability to filter by link and/or note

when on the home view, i would like the option to be able to view only my links or only my notes. i use links differently than i use notes so it's not often that i want to see them both in one view. currently, i add a "note" tag to my notes and then include or exclude that tag from the view, but i'd prefer a simpler method.
